Trans-Tasman
Jetstar dropped their fair air fare on the main Tasman routes by 18-20%, details of which were posted yesterday.
Most of the other airlines flying across the Tasman have responded, but the sales are only on the main routes (sorry Dunedin, Queenstown, Hamilton, Rotorua and Wellington).
Air New Zealand's fares are higher than Jetstar's fair air fare, by a non-trivial amount. Unless they drop further we won't be posting them for this sale.
Emirates' fares are lower than Jetstar. We'll post details shortly.
Pacific Blue's fair air fares are slightly higher than Jetstar's, however are higher than Emirates' fares by a non-trivial amount. Unless they drop further we won't be posting them for this sale.
Domestic
Jetstar dropped their fair air fare on the main domestic routes by 14-30%, details of which were posted yesterday.
Pacific Blue has responded with a matching sale. Since their surcharges are lower than Jetstar, their fair air fare is slightly lower than Jetstar's. We'll post these details shortly.
Air New Zealand has responded by putting some of the main routes on today's grab-a-seat (fares not available at time of writing), and will likely have more routes on grab-a-seat in the days ahead. Grab-a-seat fares do not qualify for posting as real cheap air fares, because they are not available for at least 3 days.
